Hillis-Carnes joined Sterling Logistics Properties, ARCO Design/Build, and our project partners to celebrate the redevelopment of a former movie theater site into a Class A logistics facility in Columbia, Maryland. Our team has supported the project through environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing and inspection services. We also helped guide the property through the Maryland Department of the Environment’s Voluntary Cleanup Program, resulting in regulatory closure and eligibility for significant Brownfields Tax Credits. We are proud to be a part of a project that is transforming a prominent commercial property into a valuable new asset for the Howard County community.

Hillis-Carnes is pleased to welcome Andrew Wicks to our Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, office as Environmental Division Manager.

Andrew brings more than 15 years of environmental consulting and project management experience serving public and private sector clients nationwide. His expertise includes Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), hazardous materials investigations, environmental compliance, permitting, remediation, and project management. Throughout his career, he has completed and reviewed hundreds of environmental assessments supporting commercial, industrial, transportation, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects.

In his new role, Andrew will lead the growth of Hillis-Carnes’ Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) services in Central Pennsylvania while supporting clients throughout the region.

Last week, Hillis-Carnes was pleased to host a Meet & Greet at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia.

We brought together a great mix of professionals from across the industry, including architects, structural engineers, general contractors, clients, and members of the HCEA team. The evening provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, make new connections, and engage in meaningful conversations about the projects and opportunities shaping our region.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. The positive feedback and energy throughout the evening reinforced the value of bringing our industry together in a relaxed setting focused on collaboration and relationship-building.
