Our customer Apex Supply Co. was proud to support the 22nd Annual Guns & Hoses Golf Tournament alongside their customer Hole In One Plumbing, LLC!
This great North Texas event brings the community together for a day on the golf course while supporting the Firefighter Fund and the men and women who serve our communities every day.
The GUNS & HOSES Foundation of North Texas is dedicated to providing immediate financial assistance to families of fallen peace officers and firefighters lost in the line of duty. Their reach covers 16 counties, which equates to more than 20,000 sworn peace officers, reserve officer, and certified and volunteer firefighters. Since being founded in 2002, the Foundation has assisted 79 Families with financial support.
The story behind Apex Supply is really the story of the American Dream. In the early 1900s, Ellie Lerer, an immigrant from Eastern Europe, started a junk yard on Ashland Alley near downtown Dallas. His English was very limited, but his entrepreneurial spirit was contagious, so he bought a mule and a simple pushcart and made his way through the streets of Dallas picking up discarded metal and reselling it for scrap.
Ellie’s son Joe also worked in the business and saw an opportunity that his father had overlooked — that the cast iron tubs and sinks they were selling for scrap had greater value for resale to plumbers. Joe began to separate the heavy tubs and sinks at the edge of the junkyard to resell them for a premium. As his business began to thrive Joe developed the building at 180 Oak Lawn in 1956. Apex has continued to operate from that location ever since. Today, Apex has 13 locations in Texas, five of which also feature a showroom. Apex continues to be owned and operated by the Lerer family.

Our customer Wilkinson Supply Co. held its first-ever Sales Summit to come together as one team with one shared purpose — elevating the sales experience for both their team and their customers.
Throughout the summit, the focus was on growth, collaboration and the power of strong relationships. They welcomed dynamic and nationally respected speaker Justin Jones-Fosu, whose message challenged and inspired the team to lead with intention, connection and purpose.
There were also valuable insights from Wilkinson’s marketing leadership, along with an impactful presentation from Carrboro branch manager Michael Tuck. In addition, Durham branch manager Jason Waldeck led an engaging negotiation workshop that encouraged practical learning, teamwork and new ways to better serve customers every day.
Most importantly, the summit reinforced what makes Raleigh, N.C.-based Wilkinson special — its culture. Bringing team members together from across the organization created energy, collaboration and a renewed commitment to supporting one another while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
As Wilkinson described, this was more than just a meeting: “It was a celebration of who we are, where we are going, and the shared commitment that continues to make Wilkinson stronger together.”

Butler Supply had a great turnout for their Customer Appreciation Day event at their Fulton, Mo., location last month. According to the folks at Butler, it was a fantastic day filled with great conversation, hands-on product displays and delicious barbeque.

AD reports robust member sales growth in first three months of 2026. In addition, member purchases from AD suppliers was up 28%.
Chairman and CEO Bill Weisberg said, “Our strong start to 2026 reflects growth across our divisions, driven by member expansion, increased engagement, and the successful integration of The Commonwealth Group. We look forward to building on this momentum in the months ahead.”
