Why does nobody want to grind anymore?

Everybody wants the finished shine overnight. Everybody wants the praise, the title, and the shortcut. But anyone who’s ever held a tool knows the truth: you can't rush the steel, and you can't fake the prep work.

If you leave the rough edges and try to hide them under a pretty weld, the pressure will crack it every single time. Life works the exact same way. It takes heat, friction, and the patience to stay in the sparks to turn something raw into something that lasts.

We slowed this down to 960 frames per second right here in the shop. Put your headphones on, turn the volume up, and watch the steel slow down. 🎧🔥

Imagine sitting around this in your backyard tonight. 🔥

This custom hanging fire pit was built 100% by our junior welder right here in the shop—he programmed the CNC plasma table, cut the steel rings, fabricated the basin, and burned every weld to learn an honest trade.

Now it’s heading to the highest bidder to do even more good work.

If you had one stamp and an envelope to the man upstairs... what would you write?

Our junior welder took this project from scratch to finished steel—programmed the CNC plasma table, cut the rings, fit the basin, welded it all up, and hung the chain. We lit a fire as the sun went down and wrote a song about what matters when the smoke clears.

There is one thing that stress-free people know that the rest of the world doesn't: You cannot be grateful and suffer at the exact same time. It took my black lab sitting on the bow of this boat to teach me that lesson.

A lot of people ask how we fund these waterway cleanups pulling tires out of the mud week after week. The answer is YOU GUYS. We build custom metal art at the shop, and when you buy or bid on it, that money goes straight into the gas tank of this flat-bottom boat.

When my 12-man crew isn't building heavy commercial structural steel for Raleigh's biggest GCs, we're out here trying to leave this state a little better than we found it. You get premium metalwork, and together, we clean up the community.
