Sabee Company in Appleton, Wisconsin in the early 1950’s. The company headquarters is still located at the original site. Reinhard Sabee is the founder of R. Sabee Company
In 1951 machine designer Reinhardt Sabee founded Circle Machinery & Supply Inc. in Appleton, Wisconsin. Reinhardt had been designing machines at Neenah based Kimberly-Clark Corp. for many years where he developed a reputation
for having a special talent for machine design and having the tenacity to get a job done. Working uncommonly long hours and longing to own his own company to reap the rewards of his talents, Reinhardt started Circle Machinery where he designed and built a vast variety of machines from Coupon Inserters to Disposable Diaper Machines. Soon after starting Circle, Reinhardt decided that it would be in his family’s best interest to design machines to produce specialty products that he could sell on a continuous basis. He decided that the Health Care Industry was one of the most recession-proof industries and that he could design machines to produce a variety of disposable hospital paper products. He thus founded The R. Product innovation and machine design have gone hand in hand for Reinhardt. He developed a machine to produce the first poly-lined disposable diaper, which at that time still needed safety pins! He has several patents including many innovations in disposable diapers. Incontinent disposable pads grew the business especially with the design of a melt blown fabric machine, which produced a smooth cover sheet for these pads. Many of the production machines at R. Sabee Co. are the result of customer requests for a particular product, including surgical drapes, bibs, aprons, exam gowns, exam table paper rolls, laboratory counter top liners, towels, incontinent pads and many more. Reinhardt and Lois Sabee
Reinhardt retired only when his health forced him to do so, but his tradition of machinery innovation and development continues today at The R. Sabee Company through his daughter and grandson. Many new products and innovations led the company to becoming a major player in the contract manufacturing field developing many consumer products in the Pet Care Industry. News
