Barn owls fledge from nests at about 60 days old, and most of the owls in Napa Valley are about that old, like these four rascals here. A few nest boxes have younger chicks, and a few pairs have started second broods (other pics).

We presented at a great workshop at Jessies’s grove Winery in Lodi, alongside other presenters about nature-based farming solutions. Did a barn owl banding demo and were lucky enough to tag along with a Nat Geo photographer who was there documenting Karen Gallardo-Cruz’s research.

Welcome to the family! 🦉🤍

Right now, inside a California vineyard, a barn owl family is raising 5 chicks–and you can watch it all live!

Our team has installed cameras inside of one barn owl nest box, giving us an inside look at the daily lives of the owls living inside. You can watch it all live, from feedings, to chick growth, and owl shenanigans galore.

Barn owls are tiny hunters with a big impact 🦉🌿

Right now, inside a California vineyard, a barn owl family is raising 5 chicks–and you can watch it all live! 🎥🐣

Our research team studies how wildlife and agriculture can work together, and barn owls are the perfect example. One family of owls can eat over 3,400 rodents a year, making them a natural, eco-friendly alternative to rodenticides. 🐀🍇

Throughout California, farmers install nest boxes that give owls a safe place to nest, and in return, they help remove rodent pests from the surrounding landscape. It’s conservation and agriculture, side by side. How’s that for a win-win solution?

Now, with a camera inside one of these nest boxes, you can watch it all, from feedings, to chick growth, and daily owl life as it happens.
