🚧 Bell Mountain 🚧

Bell Mountain, located above and behind the Wegmans and Business Route 6 corridor in Dickson City, is currently undergoing significant mining, quarrying, and land-development activity through Kriger Construction and Bell Mountain Land Development.

The operation serves an immediate purpose by extracting, crushing, processing, and supplying aggregate materials; including modified stone, various aggregates, screenings, and large riprap for Kriger’s construction projects and outside customers needs while at the same time progressively reshaping the steep mountain terrain into land that could accommodate future development.
Bell Mountain Land Development has been part of Kriger’s vertically integrated operations since approximately 2010, providing the company with its own source of construction aggregate. The extensive excavation visible from the Route 6/Wegmans area represents more than conventional material removal; the mining and grading process has improved elevations, access areas, and potentially large development pads from terrain that was previously difficult to develop. A separate commercial development, including a proposed Wawa along Cold Spring Road, also demonstrates how portions of the Bell Mountain property are being positioned for future use. Taken together, the activity represents a potentially significant transformation of Bell Mountain in which Kriger’s existing quarry operation produces valuable construction materials while simultaneously changing the topography and creating developable land that could ultimately support major commercial, and infrastructure investment in the Dickson City area.

At Kriger Construction, we're committed to delivering infrastructure solutions that are built to last.

One of the specialized structures you'll see on our PA RT 33 project is a precast Contech arch culvert. These reinforced concrete systems are manufactured off-site, transported to the project, and installed with precision to provide a durable, efficient crossing for roadways over streams and waterways.

Unlike traditional pipe culverts, precast arch culverts offer a larger hydraulic opening, help preserve natural stream flow, and provide improved passage for wildlife—all while reducing construction time and minimizing impacts to the traveling public.

🚧 Heavy Lifting Underway on PA Route 33! 🚧

Kriger Construction is making major progress on our PA Route 33 Bridge Reconstruction Project, where precision, planning, and powerful equipment are coming together to keep this critical infrastructure project moving forward.

Taking center stage is the Liebherr LR1500 Crawler Crane, provided by Sautter Crane Rental, Inc. in partnership with NEPA Crane & Hauling, LLC. This incredible machine is playing a vital role in some of the most demanding lifts on the project.

The LR1500 is assisting our crews with:
🏗️ Removing existing reinforced concrete bridge beams measuring 162 feet long and weighing approximately 225,000 pounds each.
🏗️ Installing massive Contech precast arch culvert sections, each spanning 60 feet wide and weighing nearly 60,000 pounds.
🏗️ Placing 96-inch reinforced concrete pipe, helping improve drainage and long-term roadway resilience.

A project of this scale takes a dedicated team, and we're proud to work alongside our valued subcontractors IWDA Engineering, RB Farms, and Contech whose expertise is helping make this complex reconstruction a success.

Every lift is the result of detailed engineering, careful coordination, and a commitment to safety. We're proud to be rebuilding infrastructure that will serve Pennsylvania motorists for decades to come.

🚧 Project Spotlight: SR 2007 (South Street) Bridge Rehabilitation 🌉

Kriger Construction is rehabilitating the SR 2007 (South Street) Bridge in Wilkes-Barre to improve safety, extend the bridge's service life, and enhance reliability for the thousands of motorists who use this important roadway each day.

This comprehensive bridge preservation project includes:
🔹 Structural steel repairs and protective painting
🔹 Concrete deck and substructure repairs
🔹 Bridge joint and bearing rehabilitation
🔹 Drainage improvements
🔹 New guide rail, pavement markings, and other roadway safety upgrades

Rather than replacing the bridge, this rehabilitation restores key structural elements and protects the bridge from future deterioration, providing a cost-effective solution that minimizes disruptions while ensuring long-term performance.
