Ace Avant’s Concrete Cutting Division is on the I-40 reconstruction project through the Pigeon River Gorge. An approximately $2 billion effort to rebuild and strengthen the interstate following the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Helene.

Project Manager Wyatt Wooten walks through the scope of work, from installing a 6" stone base sub grade to constructing the perimeter and interior footings, followed by a 6" slab reinforced with steel metal fibers from Concrete Fiber Solutions.

One of the biggest wins on this project was the team's ex*****on. Pedro's crew completed the footings in under a week, Juan's crew delivered an exceptional slab finish, and Wooten kept the concrete flowing so the project stayed on schedule.

We're not finished yet, we'll be back to construct the retaining walls and all 12 loading docks.

🧠 June is Mental Health Awareness Month.

In construction, we're trained to be tough, push through challenges, and get the job done. But mental health is just as important as physical safety on the job site.

This month, our team took time to discuss the importance of mental health in the trades during a Toolbox Talk. Stress, anxiety, burnout, and personal struggles can affect anyone, and having open conversations helps create a stronger, safer workplace for everyone.

At Ace Avant, safety goes beyond hard hats and PPE. It means looking out for one another, speaking up when something feels off, and making sure every team member knows they're not facing challenges alone.

Let's continue breaking the stigma and building a culture where it's okay to ask for help.
