🚨❄️ Winter Storm Incoming! ❄️🚨
Friendly reminder: your furnace is about to clock in for overtime… and your pipes are about to get real dramatic 🥶😂
👇 Tips in the comments so your house doesn’t turn into an indoor waterpark 💦

Alright folks… it’s officially freeze-your-pipes weather 😅❄️
Here’s how to avoid no heat + burst pipes:

🔥 Thermostat temps (YES it matters)

🏠 If you’re home:
➡️ Keep it around 68–72°F (comfortable + safe)
Try not to crank it way down overnight when temps are brutal.

🏡 If you leave:
➡️ Do NOT shut your heat off.
Set it at least 60–65°F so your pipes don’t start plotting revenge 🧊💧

💧 Plumbing tips so your pipes don’t explode

✅ Drip faucets (especially on outside walls)
➡️ Moving water helps prevent freezing.

✅ Open cabinet doors under sinks
➡️ Warm air gets to the pipes.

✅ Know where your main water shutoff is
➡️ If something bursts, shutting it off fast saves BIG damage 💦😳

🚰 “Unplug” outside faucets (do this TODAY)

1️⃣ Disconnect hoses
➡️ Hoses trap water and can freeze/crack your spigot.

2️⃣ Drain the hose + store it
➡️ Frozen hoses = mess later.

3️⃣ If you have an inside shutoff valve for outdoor faucets—turn it off
➡️ This stops water feeding the outside line.

4️⃣ Open the outside faucet after shutting it off
➡️ Drains leftover water out.

5️⃣ Add a faucet cover
➡️ Cheap insurance, big help in extreme cold.

🌀 HVAC tips to keep the heat on

✅ Change your furnace filter
➡️ Dirty filter = low airflow = system strain = breakdown risk.

✅ Keep vents clear
➡️ Furniture + rugs blocking vents = poor heating.

⚡ If power goes out:
➡️ When it returns, keep thermostat steady and let the system restart normally.

We survived another year of leaky faucets, cold furnaces, and surprise plumbing emergencies—and we couldn’t have done it without YOU! 😄

We’ll be closed on Thursday, January 1st for New Year’s Day, but we’ll still have a technician on call for emergencies.
