TRIM TUESDAY AT SADDLE HORN CUSTOM HOMES! Today we feature Wainscoting. Historically Wainscoting was used as added insulation and a way to protect walls from dampness and cold, especially on stone. Today it is now a more prominent, decorative accent, and another way to create your perfect style! This wood paneling trim is often used in foyers, staircases, bathrooms, and dining rooms. It features vertical panels extending from the floor to the middle of the wall in an unbroken border often topped with chair rail (which we will feature next week!).

TRIM TUESDAY!! A day to explore the unique trim types available for your custom home. Today we feature Architrave Decorative Trim which is used around your doors and sometimes windows. Traditional casing is used to cover up the space between the door and wall, blut Architrave goes one step further and adds unique character and decor. Before we leave "Christmas in July", Saddle Horn Custom Homes wants to remind our current and future customers to allocate space for storage rooms for those important times of the year or themed items in your home!! Christmas is a super big time for us, so we designed a room in our home plan solely for Christmas decorations. Here are a few examples! Unfortunately, our room is the least "organized", but it works for us!! Once you plan the room, organizing it is all the more fun!! Clearly, I need to try a bit harder! Dedicated storage rooms can be for your hobbies, other seasons like Halloween, items you collect, crafts, etc. Don't forget all of the ways you can customize your home plan and make it yours.
