Using Tungaloy's BallFinishNose and MST's MillBore to achieve the target diameter quickly and accurately on FANUC's ROBODRILL. 📍

This process follows roughing, pre-finishing, in-machine measurement, offset correction, and final finishing to achieve the required dimensional accuracy. Using the new G171 G-code on ROBODRILL, the finishing diameter is adjusted based on the measurement result inside the machine!

The key point is not just measuring the part but also using that measurement to correct the final finishing process.

Grooving an interrupted workpiece with cermet! 🔥

Being able to utilize cermet inserts as an alternative to carbide tools can be valuable and cost effective in this market to reduce the overall carbide usage and produce a superior surface finish.

We tried high-feed grooving on a square bar to see how far cermet can really go. This video shows that carbide isn’t the only answer when it comes to cutting performance. At the end, we also measured the surface roughness after machining.

You might be running through more carbide than your application requires.
