At least two or three times a week we are asked by a vendor, a customer, banker, or friend why we work seven days a week here at TeamBWT. And why we don’t have fancy offices, why we don’t go on big vacations, or why our margins are so thin (the last usually comes from our accountant). Anyway, because we are asked so often we thought we should just go ahead and put it out there.
What keeps us going at TeamBWT is (1) We like what we do, (2) We really appreciate and love our vendors and customers, (3) We respect and value everyone who works with us, and (4) The work allows us to do something that for us is worth more than gold. You see, while each of our stories are different, here at TeamBWT we have all faced adversity in life. But we don’t let that hold us back. We use as much of our talents as possible to help others so they don’t have to face what we did.
For example, we are just finishing a project where we purchased a diesel generator in Poland and are having it installed in Kyiv Ukraine to power a kitchen for the poor and homeless who -- through no fault of their own -- are suffering. Working with Father Vyacheslav Grynevych SAC, Executive Director of Caritas-Spes Ukraine (See picture of Father Vyacheslav recently visiting the Pope below) and others, we are doing what we can to make sure Russian bombs that have destroyed their power infrastructure don’t lead to starvation.
There was no gala. There was no golf outing, and (again to our accountant’s dismay), there is no tax deduction since we're doing this on our own in a foreign country.
So, in case you were one of those who hasn’t asked us yet….. the takeaways from today’s post are these: We believe money from the sales of fossil fuels can bring good to the world. TeamBWT isn’t interested in getting a corporate jet or private yacht. Our success is defined by providing the best service we can to our customers, to use small business vendors whenever possible so they can continue to feed their families, and to step in and help those in serious need who can’t help themselves. God Bless you all.
