Why Spray Foam is Non-Negotiable for Steel Homes
When insulating a shipping container, using traditional fiberglass batts is a recipe for disaster. Because steel condenses moisture so easily, standard insulation eventually traps water, turning into a soggy, moldy mess that rots your framing from the inside out.
This build shows the proper way to handle it: a clean wood stud frame filled with closed-cell spray foam. The foam expands to stick directly to the corrugated steel, sealing out air and creating a seamless v***r barrier that stops condensation and hidden rust.
Some builders try to save cash by DIY-cutting rigid foam boards, but getting a perfect airtight seal in every corrugation is incredibly difficult.
