Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and at Paradigm, we’re proud to come together as a company and community to support Susan G. Komen through our annual fundraising campaign.

Breast cancer continues to impact millions of individuals therefore making research and access to care is more important than ever. Since 1989, Komen’s work has contributed to a 44% reduction in the breast cancer mortality rate—an important reminder of what can be accomplished when people come together to support meaningful progress.

Throughout October, our employees, residents, and future residents have an opportunity to join us in supporting this important cause. Whether through a donation or participating in our campaign incentives, every contribution helps support the continued fight against breast cancer.

We’re proud to use our platform to raise awareness, encourage community involvement, and support organizations working to make a lasting difference.

Going above and beyond doesn’t always mean staying in your own lane—it can mean stepping up when another team needs you. That’s exactly what Ernesto Borges, Leasing Professional at Meridian at Ballston Commons, has done.

Ernesto’s willingness to support his fellow team members and step in wherever he’s needed makes him a true asset to the Paradigm team. While his primary role is at Meridian at Ballston Commons, Ernesto recently stepped up to support both Meridian at Courthouse Commons and Ovation at Arrowbrook when their teams were short staffed.

He jumped in to help keep important social media content moving forward, ensuring these communities could continue showcasing what they have to offer while navigating staffing challenges. But Ernesto’s support didn’t stop there. He also volunteered to help train new team members at these properties, sharing his knowledge and helping set them up for success.

Ernesto’s willingness to lend a hand, share his expertise, and support other Paradigm communities is a great example of the teamwork and collaboration that make our organization stronger.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is an opportunity to acknowledge that history while also celebrating the resilience and cultural traditions that have been carried forward from generation to generation.

World Habitat Day 🌎🏠

Today, we recognize World Habitat Day and the importance of creating communities where quality housing is accessible to more people.

At Paradigm, that mission is reflected in the work we do every day—from developing and constructing communities to managing and caring for the places our residents call home.

Meridian 2250 at Eisenhower Station is one example of that work. Developed and constructed by Paradigm and now managed by our team, the community represents the different ways we contribute to creating places people are proud to call home.

Our work also extends to managing affordable housing in communities throughout the region. Indigo at McLean Station in McLean, Virginia, is bringing 456 new apartments to the Tysons area, including studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes for households earning 50–70% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Located just a 10-minute walk from the McLean Metrorail Station, the community provides residents with convenient access to transportation, employment, retail, and other opportunities. We’re proud to partner with SCG Development and to play a role in managing this community and supporting the residents who call it home.

Our partnerships with organizations like PathForward also remind us that housing is about more than a building. Stable housing, supportive services, and strong community partnerships all play a role in helping people build a stronger future.

This World Habitat Day, we recognize the importance of giving everyone the opportunity to find a place to call home. 💙

Never Forget

Twenty-five years later, September 11th remains a day that changed our country forever.

We remember the lives lost, the families impacted, and the heroes who answered the call. We recognize the communities that were forever changed, including right here, where the Pentagon was struck and 184 lives were lost.

Twenty-five years later, the Pentagon remains a powerful reminder of the lasting impact that day had on our nation.

As we reflect on 25 years since that day, we also remember how people came together. In the days that followed, differences seemed smaller, neighbors looked out for one another, and communities across the country showed what was possible when people stood together. That spirit of unity became a lasting reminder of what we can accomplish even in the worst circumstances.

As we mark this 25th anniversary, may we carry that spirit with us in how we treat our neighbors, support our communities, and show compassion for one another.

25 years later, we remember. And we stand together.

Aidan MacGregor is a recent Paradigm Employee of the Month! 🏆

As a Leasing Professional at Indigo at McLean Station, Aidan stepped into a fast-paced lease-up environment and immediately set a new standard. Despite entering the role with less traditional experience than her peers, she completely outpaced expectations from day one—proving that a positive attitude and pure drive beat a resume every time.

Leasing a brand-new property before a physical product is fully available is a challenge. Doing it while navigating understaffed periods and team transitions requires true resilience. Aidan handled it all with a smile, a can-do attitude, and an unwavering commitment to her team and future residents.
