Shawn Springs is the CEO of Windpact, a Leesburg-based company focused on tools and technologies that empower designers and engineers to develop industry-leading products by delivering critical data and analysis. Having spent 13 years in the NFL, his initial motive for starting his company was to develop better and more effective helmet technology. The product—Crash Cloud, a patented advanced impact protection system designed to be tunable and optimized—became a launch pad for more innovative and sophisticated computer-aided design, modeling, and simulations. The realization that this system aided products in streamlining their market introduction while minimizing costs, coupled with unique material data, became instrumental in supporting partners like the United States Department of Defense and the National Football League.
Windpact's unique approach involves utilizing computer-aided tools and innovative technologies, such as Crash Cloud, to facilitate product development in diverse industries. By providing faster, more cost-efficient processes, they unlock the potential for better-performing products. Collaborating with clients in sports, military, and automotive sectors, Shawn's team of business, scientific, and medical advisors tackle challenging manufacturing problems, propelling brands into a new era of product development.
A TEDx presenter with a talk titled "Tackling Helmet Protection Head On," Shawn is , extending his influence beyond business.
