Been a busy Spring so far, trying to get back to posting some project highlights. This one involved cleaning up a fire break/buffer with select herbicide application followed by replacing some unwanted mulch with small river cobble. I always enjoy working on properties where utmost attention is required by the clients to make sure nothing is damaged during the work process.

Finally getting around to posting some pics of the new dump. Been working it for a little over a week now and love it so far. This is my 3rd DC trailer and still very happy with the brand and the quality products they sell. My dealer, T-n-J Trailers, I’m Pelzer is exceptional and back all of the Diamond C products they sell with a passion. Now let’s go get some note work done-

Finishing touches on one of our recent meadowscaping projects. This one was tricky due to a stream that was out of its original channel and four underground springs. To achieve the desired result we used a combination of methods including mechanized mulching, traditional grubbing and de-stumping and then a re-plant of buckwheat/oats/rye grass for soil conditioning and transition back to meadow/field conditions. Mulching is an effective tool for such projects but managing the cover of woody biomass is critical to achieve proper growth of new cover. Wet areas around the springs were used to waste extra mulch that was thinned from other spots.

We’re gonna need a bigger boat! When yesterday’s bad day became insignificant real fast and found the limit of the 120’s undercarriage today but not the bottom of this marsh.
This is the worst I’ve ever gotten a skid stuck by a long shot. But....have no fear, with half a brain (me), a great helper and plenty of YouTube training on how to get equipment out of the mud from the master (thanks Chris) anything is possible.
We went and got the Yanmar 35 and started clearing around the machine while trying to also not get it stuck as well. Timbers were cut and used to create a flotation mat for it and then used the 35 to help it up on top. The hole was quickly filling with water so we knew we couldn’t leave it overnight or face a worse situation tomorrow. All’s well that end well -
