Last Thursday, MB HAYNES was honored to attend the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Veterans Restoration Quarters (VRQ) at 1329 Tunnel Road in Asheville.

The VRQ holds a special place in our hearts and is truly one of our favorite organizations to support. Their commitment to helping veterans rebuild their lives, regain stability, and move toward a brighter future is a mission we are proud to stand behind.

Supporting our veterans is especially meaningful to MB HAYNES because 41 veterans currently work alongside us as fellow employee-owners. We are incredibly proud of the experience, leadership, dedication, and service they bring to our company every day.

Our support of the VRQ goes beyond the work we do. MB HAYNES employee-owners have proudly volunteered their time and talents to serve the organization and the veterans who call it home. We’re also grateful that our Electric division has the opportunity to provide service work for the VRQ when needed.

We’re excited to see what this next chapter brings for the Veterans Restoration Quarters and the many veterans who will benefit from this important project. Congratulations to everyone who has worked to make this groundbreaking possible! And a big thank you to the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry for their continued leadership and guidance.

What a special afternoon in Yancey County!

This past Friday, HAYNES Construction Group had the privilege of celebrating the ribbon cutting for the new Yancey County Public Safety Facility. It was wonderful to see state and local officials, community leaders, project partners—including Moseley Architects from Charlotte and Raleigh —and members of the community come together to recognize this important investment in public safety and emergency preparedness.

This new facility will provide the dedicated men and women who serve Yancey County with the resources and capabilities they need to better serve and protect their community for many years to come.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, craftsmanship, and collaboration that helped bring this project to life. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making the celebration possible, and congratulations to Yancey County on this exciting milestone!

Today, MB HAYNES proudly recognizes National Hire a Veteran Day—a day created to encourage employers across the country to recruit transitioning service members and recognize the exceptional leadership, discipline, teamwork, and dedication veterans bring to the civilian workforce.

We are honored to currently employ more than 40 veterans throughout our organization and are deeply grateful for the experience, character, and commitment they bring to our team each day. Their willingness to serve our country reflects the same values we hold close at MB HAYNES: putting people first, aiming high, and taking ownership.

To every veteran who has worn our nation’s uniform, thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and service. We are proud to work alongside you and even prouder to have you as part of the HAYNES family.

This year, as our country celebrates 250 years, we’re reminded of the generations of hardworking people who built, served, dreamed, and sacrificed to make America what it is today.

There’s something truly heartwarming about 250 years of families gathering under fireworks, neighbors helping neighbors, and communities like ours continuing to grow stronger together. We’re proud to call Western North Carolina home, and we’re grateful for the people, places, and freedoms that make this country worth celebrating.

Yesterday morning marked a proud and meaningful moment for the MB HAYNES family as we presented our annual Fred W. Lewis Legacy of Learning Scholarships to this year’s recipients.

This scholarship was awarded to three outstanding graduating students, each the son or daughter of an MB HAYNES employee. These students were recognized not only for their hard work and dedication, but also for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead of them.

Named in honor of former CEO Fred Lewis and his incredible 43 years of service to HAYNES, this scholarship reflects Fred’s lifelong appreciation for education, growth, and learning. Each award includes one of Fred’s favorite scriptures: “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.” Proverbs 9:9 ESV

Congratulations to each of this year’s recipients. Your HAYNES family is proud to celebrate this milestone with you, and we look forward to seeing all that you achieve in the years ahead.
