This Memorial Day, MB HAYNES pauses to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to something greater than themselves will never be forgotten. We are especially mindful today that members of our own MB HAYNES family have served in the United States Armed Forces, and we are grateful for the example they continue to set through their dedication, leadership, and service.

May we carry the meaning of this day with humility and gratitude — honoring the fallen, supporting those who served, and cherishing the freedoms they protected.

Today we celebrate the women who build more than just homes—they build families, communities, and futures. On Mother’s Day, we honor the strength, patience, and unwavering love that mothers bring into every part of life. Whether on the jobsite, in the office, or at home, the moms on our team and in our community show up with resilience, care, and a commitment that inspires us all.

We also recognize the mothers who support our team members behind the scenes—the ones who have made sacrifices, offered encouragement, and helped shape the people we work alongside every day.

To all the moms, stepmoms, grandmothers, and mother figures—thank you for everything you do, seen and unseen.

This past Wednesday, MB HAYNES was proud to help surprise fourth grade teacher Amy Atkinson in her classroom at Hominy Valley Elementary as she was named the Mix 96.5 Teacher of the Month!

As the sponsor of this special recognition, we’re honored to celebrate educators like Ms. Atkinson, whose impact reaches far beyond the school year. Melanie from the Mix 96.5 afternoon show received an email from the mother of a former student sharing that, even though her son is now 21, he still talks about how much he enjoyed being in Ms. Atkinson’s class. That kind of lasting influence is exactly why teachers deserve to be celebrated.

May is National Electrical Safety Month — a reminder that the work we do every day is about more than power, wires, panels, and systems. It's about people. At MB HAYNES, safety is personal. It means protecting our teammates, our customers, our families, and the communities we are proud to serve across Western North Carolina and the Upstate.

Electrical work should never be taken lightly. Whether you are on a jobsite, in the office, or at home, take the extra moment to slow down, check your surroundings, follow proper procedures, and ask questions when something does not feel right.

To our electrical teams: thank you for your skill, your professionalism, and your commitment to doing things the right way. Your work powers schools, hospitals, businesses, homes, and everyday life — and your safety will always come first.

This month and every month, let’s stay alert, look out for one another, and make sure everyone goes home safely.

This week, members of the MB HAYNES team are in Washington, D.C. for The ESOP Association’s National Conference. The conference provides educational sessions to strengthen participants’ knowledge of ESOPs and ESOP culture. The conference also provides ESOP Advocacy Day; an important event focused on promoting employee ownership by meeting with the offices of members of Congress and sharing the importance of ESOPs with our elected officials.
