Saving Horse Cove Hollow: Structural Secrets of a Luxury Historic 🏠🔨

We are back up at this beautiful 1881 farmhouse in Highlands North Carolina for part 3. Demo is almost wrapped up but to do a renovation of this type right, you have to make sure the foundation is correct.

Our team just spent the last week excavating a crawl space that originally had as little as 8 to 10 in of clearance - not even enough room to wiggle through. We are preserving the homes incredible original granite piers, and we are digging the crawl space deeper to engineer a completely dry, sealed, structural foundation that will last for the next century.

Today we're meeting on-site with our structural engineer to map out the framing repairs needed to support the farmhouse for the next 100 years.

Progress update! 🌊 The pool house framing is nearly complete and the waterline tile is set. We’re especially proud of the craftsmanship on this project, the masonry chimney, the custom cedar rafter tails, the beautiful waterline pool tile.
