Some projects show what construction really looks like behind the scenes — and this Lake Lure build is one of them.

I was sitting here this weekend working on some of our marketing and media for RHR Builders, and I decided to remix one of our Lake Lure project videos.

It came out pretty cool, so I wanted to share it.

This project is a good example of what construction really looks like behind the scenes — difficult access, steep terrain, waterfront conditions, structural planning, specialty construction, and a whole lot of problem-solving.

It is also an example of what we are capable of when handling complex, difficult jobs while still focusing on quality, craftsmanship, and getting the job done the right way.

On this project, we brought in a crane crew from out of town and used multiple specialty construction solutions to handle the terrain, access, and waterfront conditions. That included turbidity barriers, multiple levels of silt fence, reinforced structural buttresses installed to support the existing stone retaining wall, micro piles, helical piles, spread footers, critical-grade marine 8x8 lumber, and specialty materials throughout the build.

From structural reinforcement to marine-grade lumber and custom/exotic finish materials, this project has required planning, coordination, and craftsmanship at every stage. By the time this one is finished, it is going to be beautiful.

The website people have gone home for the night, but the mailers go out tomorrow — so now it’s on me to make sure everything is cleaned up, updated, and ready.

That’s business ownership.
