Our Story
ZUBI’S, founded by Sarah Zubiate in 2017, is a Latina-owned, plant-based salsa and dip company headquartered in Athens, Texas. Sarah’s vision and passion for ZUBI’S dips and salsa were driven by her love and concern for her 80-year old immigrant parents’ diet and lifestyle. As a real go-getter with a spicy personality, she has transformed traditional Latina products, such as dairy-based queso and crema dips, into healthy, dairy-free, and allergen-free alternatives that are filled with bold flavors and fresh, clean ingredients. With her parents’ utmost satisfaction and approval of her incredible recipes, Sarah knew she had to share the love, passion, and flavors of ZUBI’S with everyone, which thus became our motto of “ZUBI’S for everyone!”. Because no matter one’s diet or lifestyle, ZUBI’s products can truly be enjoyed by everyone.
With a launch into H-E-B Central Market in 2017, it has been off to the races for ZUBI’S. In November of 2019, ZUBI’S underwent a complete re-branding with a shift toward sustainable and eco-friendly glass jars. We opened our zero-waste facility to manufacture all ZUBI’S products on our very own ZUBI’S Organic Farm. Anything that is not harvested from the ZUBI’S Organic Farm or used in ZUBI’S products within the ZUBI’S Organic facility is donated to Free Earth Project, a non-profit founded by Cody Robson, who focuses on “Free Produce - Donation Only” in the East Texas food desert.
Today, the ZUBI’s Organic Farm & Facility, owned by ZUBI’S is 100% sustainable, powered by a solar panel energy field, and uses the freshest, cleanest water, sourced from the nearby Wilcox aquifer. Currently, ZUBI’S grows many of the hard to source and expensive ingredients of our flavorful products on our farm - such as onions, jalapeños, garlic, and mini sweet peppers. "We are so fortunate to have the Free Earth Project Founder, Cody Robson, managing the ZUBI'S Organic Farm operations."
Our ZUBI’s family is committed to farming with 100% sustainable practices and in preserving natural resources for generations to come.
