If you missed us at SunNFun last week, we will be in Las Vegas on May 18-19 at the Asian Pilots Expo! Show up to support other women in aviation & STEM by volunteering and/or donating!
❤️Many have asked how a Vietnamese-American immigrant from a Third World country like me could finance flight training. I am so grateful that I am healthy, and I get to fly into the beauty of na**lm skies! I left my war-ravaged village in Vietnam and came to the US at the age of 12 through my freedom-searching risk-taking boat refugee brother. Living in poverty, my family had nothing, but I had a burning dream to fly. I had no support system. In fact, many people around me including flight instructors actively discouraged and readily disqualified me. Hansen powerfully said “It takes nothing to stand with the crowd but everything to stand alone.” Earning $6/hr as a Math tutor & taking out student loans, I lived in my car and perhaps unlawfully crashed in airports during flight training in order to become a pilot & flight instructor. Perseverance & determination will always win! Next Summer I will fly solo around the world in a single engine piston to promote Aerospace & Aviation to young women. I have also founded a nonprofit fully tax-deductible 501(c)3 organization to provide flight training to young women (donations accepted thru. the link in my bio). BELIEVE in yourself even when NO ONE else believes in you!
