AI ambitions are high. So are expectations for control.

A week of conversations with our EMEA team and customers across the UK and EU made that clear. Different roadmaps, three shared priorities:
1️⃣ Put AI agents to work safely.
2️⃣ Remediate vulnerabilities faster.
3️⃣ Connect existing automation into coordinated operations.

Governance, auditability, and control were central themes. And that’s exactly the foundation for agentic operations that we’ve been building for years with the Itential Platform.

LLMs probabilistic by design, but that stochastic nature clashes with infrastructure that depends on repeatable, idempotent outcomes.

In his recent article, John Capobianco covers why that separation between AI reasoning and deterministic outcomes matters when running agentic AI in network operations, and how the usual fixes won’t close the gap.

What actually works: let the model be probabilistic about what to do, then keep the system deterministic about how it gets done.

The reasoning can vary, the ex*****on can’t. That’s the build that gets agentic AI safely running in infrastructure.
