We’re honored to be a part of Wendell’s story and journey towards greater independence!

Having met us almost a year ago, Wendell has been an incredible, highly motivated individual who was searching for a better way to control his digital devices. Over several months, we worked together to continuously improve and adapt Kinemo to work best for him so that he can use his phone and school computer with much more ease. Using Kinemo has helped him regain control of his digital life, and we could not be prouder to support him in his journey.

Huge thanks to Georgia Tech Research, Georgia Tech Office of Commercialization, Georgia Tech Quadrant-I, and of course Shepherd Center for putting this feature together and for their help in bringing this technology to life.

We’re thankful to Georgia Tech Research for sharing our story!

Taking Kinemo from an idea in the lab to a product in the market has been a long process of market research, customer validation, and constant iteration and improvement. What started as a research question has grown into incredible technology designed to create more accessible ways for people to interact with the world around them.

It’s exciting to look back at how far this has come, and even more exciting to keep building what comes next.

We’re proud to announce that we’ve been accepted into the IMPACT Accelerate program!

The Impact Center at the University of Pittsburgh is funded by NIDILRR to provide tools and approaches to comprehensively understand barriers and facilitators to successful Assistive Technology Tech Transfer (ATTT), raise awareness, and increase the capacity of researchers and entrepreneurs to perform successful ATTT.

We’ve had the opportunity to participate in both Phase 1 (IMPACT BootCamp) and Phase 2 (IMPACT StartUp) of the IMPACT Center’s training program, strengthening our path to market through structured guidance and customer discovery. Each phase has played a key role in refining our approach and advancing our technology in real-world settings. We’re excited to continue this momentum as we begin Phase 3, IMPACT Accelerate.

Last month at the Abilities Expo, we met so many incredible people and had the opportunity to let them try Kinemo firsthand, revealing a wide range of unique mobility needs that pushed us to think on our feet and adapt the system in real time.

Every setup was different, but once our device was configured and ready to go, we saw incredible reactions from people accessing computers and gaming in ways that felt entirely new and previously impossible. By using any body motion from head to toe, attendees were able to control a computer in a way that was unique to them.
