Spray foam may look complete, but is it truly performing as designed?

In this video, Home Energy Professional (HEP) examines a spray foam installation for inconsistent depth, thin areas, voids, missed air-sealing locations and other workmanship concerns.

Having an independent, certified Energy Auditor recheck the installation can provide another layer of quality assurance. We can:

✅ Compare insulation depth and estimated R-value with applicable code requirements and project specifications
✅ Identify thin spots, gaps and incomplete coverage
✅ Locate potential air-leakage pathways around framing, penetrations and transitions
✅ Use diagnostic testing, when appropriate, to evaluate the home’s air barrier
✅ Document deficiencies before they are concealed by drywall or finishes
✅ Verify completed corrections for the homeowner or contractor

The goal is not simply to have spray foam installed, it is to create a continuous thermal and air barrier that performs properly.

Home Energy Professional, LLC (HEP) is seeking motivated and experienced BPI Certified Energy Auditors to join our growing team in the Atlanta Metro Area and surrounding counties.

✅ BPI Certification Required
✅ Valid Driver's License Required
✅ Must Pass Background Check
✅ Experience with residential energy audits preferred
✅ Experience with Weatherization Assistant (WA10), Snugg Pro, TREAT, LIT, or similar energy modeling software is highly preferred

💰 Compensation: Typical earnings range from $750–$1,000+ per week for experienced auditors, with opportunities to earn more based on production, experience, and performance.

🏡✨ A House Transformed. A Community Impacted. ✨🏡

At Home Energy Professional (HEP), we are blessed to be part of projects that go beyond energy savings they help change lives.

This particular home was first identified through Carolina Community Actions' Weatherization Program, where HEP completed the initial Energy Audit and developed a comprehensive plan to improve the home's comfort, health, safety, and energy efficiency.

The improvements included:

✅ New Heat Pump Installation
✅ Air Sealing Throughout the Home
✅ Attic and Floor Insulation
✅ V***r Barrier Installation
✅ New Crawl Space Access Door
✅ Bathroom Ventilation Fan
✅ ASHRAE Whole-House Ventilation Fan
✅ Kitchen Exhaust Vent Over Gas Range
✅ Floor Leveling and Structural Improvements

After the work was completed, HEP returned to perform the Quality Control Inspection to ensure all measures were installed correctly and met program standards.

But the story didn't stop there.

As a Dominion Energy customer, this homeowner was selected for a special Beautification Project through a partnership between Dominion Energy, Carolina Community Actions, and Home Energy Professional.

HEP coordinated the project logistics, including securing the dumpster, portable restrooms, flowers, paint, tools, materials, and other resources needed to bring the vision to life.

Then something amazing happened...

More than 30 volunteers came together to serve this homeowner and community. Together they:

🌻 Planted flowers and landscaping
🎨 Painted and refreshed the property
🚪 Replaced exterior doors
🛠️ Rebuilt the front porch
🌳 Performed extensive yard cleanup and beautification

What started as an energy efficiency project became a complete home transformation.

This is what partnerships can accomplish when organizations, volunteers, and communities work together toward a common goal.

A special thank you to Dominion Energy, Carolina Community Actions, the volunteers, contractors, and everyone involved in making this project a success.

We track airflow, find hidden leaks, test safety (like CO and draft), and identify where energy is being lost from the attic down to the ductwork and foundation.
