Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is marking its 75th anniversary today, Sept. 1, 75 years after the opening of Hall County Hospital on Sept. 1, 1951.
According to an NGHS press release, the hospital opened with 90 beds and 16 physicians on its medical staff. It has since grown into the largest health system in Georgia outside Atlanta, operating seven hospitals, including five acute care hospitals with more than 1,000 licensed beds.
