First cold night, the furnace kicks on. Nobody's looking at the pipe on the roof.

This one sat in a hole cut too big. Pipe moves, seal fails.

New plywood snug around it, an inch and a half of clearance. New base. New collar.

A hairline gap around your chimney is all water needs.

It freezes. It expands. The gap gets wider.

New roof before a listing or a repair at home — every chimney gets the same seal. Waterproof layer four inches up the wall, metal flashing on top, overlapped so water runs over the seams.

That silver metal along your gutter isn't decoration. It's critter control — with its own warranty.

So it stays. Pull it off and that warranty could go with it.

New drip edge — the metal trim that sends water off the roof — goes in along the roof's edges, and the critter control stays right where it is.

New drip edge. Same warranty.

Today:

Before this rain rolls in, take a look up at your gutters..

If they're twisted or hanging uneven, missing gutter guard clips could be why. Those small clips hold the guard's screen tight to the front edge of your gutter. On this home, they were gone across the entire roof.

A loose gutter can't move heavy rain the way it should — and storms find every weak spot.

Add it to your storm prep list.

We clean up well, communicate often, and keep our process clear—because taking care of your roof shouldn’t mean chasing updates or jumping through hoops. You have enough to care for under one roof. We’ll make sure it endures.

Four inches of wood is holding up the peak of most roofs.

That's the ridge board — the strip your ridge vent and ridge cap sit on. At four inches, it eventually gives, and everything on top of it loses its support.

Element Pros swaps it for an eighteen to twenty-four inch board before the vent ever goes on.

Wider base. Built to hold.

That dark corner isn't dirt. It's water.

It sits there after every rain, slips under the flashing — the metal strip that's supposed to send it away from the wall — and soaks into the brick behind. 🦠 The mold you can't see yet is already growing back there, and every wet-dry cycle opens the mortar a little wider.

Gaps around a window this big don't fix themselves. Free inspections at elementpros.com
