South African Women's Alliance This page celebrates the history of women's solidarity, strength and courage. This shameless boldness needs to be recognized, adored and celebrated.

Historically, women have shown resilience, courage and strength that goes beyond fighting for equal rights. They have shown audacious acts in business, public service, religious institutions, military, engineering and most importantly where it counts most; at the family front. It should be remembered that these are ordinary women who believe that “Wathint Abafazi, wathint mbokodo” – Strike a woman and you have struck a rock.

South African Women’s Alliance (SAWA) honors your leadership and strength today, and we extend heartfelt thanks to our past honorees and to everyone who supported SAWA’s decade long celebration of South African Women’s Day in Atlanta (2013–2023). As a women’s empowerment network, SAWA remains committed to mentorship, leadership development, cultural exchange, entrepreneurship, and strengthening communities. Let’s continue to lift each other up across borders. Empowered women empower the world.
