New product announcement: Introducing Sensata’s ePM Electrostatic Particulate Matter Sensor

Supporting light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicle applications, our new ePM sensor provides continuous, real-time visibility into particulate matter emissions, enabling automotive and commercial vehicle OEMs to address increasingly stringent emissions monitoring requirements.

The sensor combines high-accuracy electrostatic sensing, detection of particulate matter concentrations as low as 10 mg/mi and a tamper-resistant design. Positioned downstream of the diesel particulate filter, it can identify DPF malfunction when particulate matter concentrations exceed monitoring thresholds, supporting faster response and stronger diagnostic confidence.

For 25 years, Sensata’s teams in Bulgaria have been advancing technologies that help make vehicles and equipment safer, more efficient and more reliable.

What began with the installation of a prototype line in Botevgrad in 2001 has grown to approximately 3,500 colleagues across Botevgrad, Plovdiv and Sofia. Together, they support engineering, research and development, testing, manufacturing, customer service and business operations.

At a recent stakeholder event in Sofia, Sensata celebrated the people, partnerships and technologies behind this remarkable journey, including the production of more than 20 million high-temperature sensors and 17 million pressure sensors each year.
