Well, we didn't win, but DI is all about exploration and development and our journey to Globals was full of both! The team gave everything they had and it resulted in the performance of a lifetime! We are so very proud of all these young women have accomplished and I was honored to be one of their Team Managers. I can't wait to see what they do with their lives. I have a feeling it will be amazing and the world will be a better place because of them - Alison

The basic concept of DI is that the kids are the ones who imagine, design, create, write, edit, build, test, adjust, negotiate, test again, and again, and again.... and finally present their own solutions. They are responsible for everything from concept to presentation. The team managers facilitate. The team managers are not even permitted to unpack the shipping crates or offer advice on their view of the "best" way to do it. Doing so will result in your team being penalized.
And just in case we forget, these signs are posted all around! And officials are watching 👀

This may not look like much to us... but the team used only vertical and horizontal lines to communicate 8 out of 10 words, in 6 minutes. Words included things such as run, triangle, fall, rain etc. A bit like charades with only lines.
