Great schools start with community voices!

JKAE recently brought the San José Unified School District community together for a series of Facilities Master Plan workshops to help shape the future of their schools.

Across six campuses on six different days, we gathered valuable feedback from students, families, staff, and community members to better understand their needs, priorities, and aspirations for their learning environments.

Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their ideas! Your voices are an essential part of creating schools that will serve students and communities for generations to come.

Our team had a great time at A4LE’s Design-Build Tour last week in San Jose!

We toured several campuses across East Side Union High School District, including two JKAE projects — the William C. Overfelt High School Performing Arts Building and the Yerba Buena High School Student Union.

It was a great opportunity to explore how collaboration and design-build delivery are helping shape innovative, student-centered learning environments throughout the district.

Yesterday, we joined the Reno Housing Authority to celebrate the grand opening of Stead Manor, marking the completion of a comprehensive renovation of the community’s interiors, exterior, and sitework. Originally opened in 1982, Stead Manor now begins a renewed chapter serving the Reno community.

Thank you to RHA for the important work you do throughout the greater Reno area, and to Plenium Builders for your partnership and efforts throughout construction.

And a special thank you to the JKAE team who helped bring this project across the finish line: Janel, Chase and Chris on architecture, Ken and Jared on civil, and Justin and Brandon on survey.

Construction is well underway at the new KidZone Museum in Truckee!

The underground structure is now in place, and crews are currently installing underground utilities. Up next: pouring the concrete floor, which will set the stage for the building’s steel structure.
