Want to add a little extra to your Jesmonite® projects? Gold flakes are one of our go-to finishes.✨

They’re such an easy way to bring in that luxe, elevated look with minimal effort.

Here’s how we do it:  ️Start by lightly brushing gold flakes onto the inner walls of your mold

- Make sure all the flakes are lying flat to avoid unwanted air bubbles. Or if you wanted to add some extra texture to your project to give it a more “organic look” you can bunch some of the gold flakes to intentionally give leave some air pockets.
- Pour your Jesmonite® mixture as usual, wait about 20-40 minutes before de-molding. DO NOT sand the gold flakes! They will come right off.
- After demolding, let your piece sit for at least 24 hours before using/sealing.

Whoever said concrete is boring clearly hasn’t tried this. Jesmonite® AC730 is that girl: Strong, versatile, and so fun to work with when you start adding color and texture.

We used Portland Stone AC730 and mixed in Jesmonite® Liquid Pigments to get this gorgeous green… and honestly we’re obsessed. It’s perfect for both indoor and outdoor projects, so the possibilities are endless. ✨

All you need is distilled white vinegar. Let your piece soak for about 30 minutes, then scrub under water to reveal all that texture and aggregate ✨

Make sure that all the parts you want acid etched are fully submerged!

We used White Marble here and the sparkle after etching is unreal. Silver Grey Granite gives a similar vibe too if you’re into that look.

Let it dry for about 24 hours before sealing so everything sets properly.
