Aurubis is undertaking trailblazing work with a new recycling plant in the US. The company is building the first secondary smelter specializing in multimetal recycling in the US, thus making a targeted investment in expanding its own recycling business. In the future, a state-of-the-art plant in Augusta (Richmond County) in the state of Georgia will process about 90,

000 t of complex recycling materials annually. The plant is a key contribution to Aurubis’ commitment to the circular economy and to the company’s goal of being carbon-neutral well before 2050. The plant should be commissioned in the first half of 2024

Aurubis GA CATT Mechatronics Apprentices

Aurubis Richmond’s mechatronics apprentices are building the technical foundation for careers in advanced manufacturing. Through the Georgia Consortium for Advanced Technical Training (GA CATT) and Augusta Technical College, participants combine classroom learning with paid, hands-on experience.

The program develops both electrical and mechanical maintenance skills while apprentices learn alongside experienced professionals in a modern manufacturing environment. The summer highlighted how technical development, teamwork and community involvement can grow together.

It's always inspiring to see our team giving back to the communities we call home. This morning, several Aurubis Richmond employees joined community leaders and volunteers from across the region to help kick off the United Way of the CSRA's annual fundraising campaign and Day of Service. The event brought together hundreds of volunteers dedicated to making a difference for local families and strengthening communities throughout the CSRA.

At Aurubis Richmond, we believe that supporting our community is an important part of who we are. We are proud of our employees who volunteered their time and energy to support United Way's mission of helping families facing challenges and creating opportunities for a brighter future.

Meet Kristian Hughes, Production Supervisor!

Over the past 2 years and 6 months, Kristian has grown from an operator to Production Supervisor through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to continuous learning. Today, Kristian leads the production team, helping ensure operations run safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards.

What does Kristian enjoy most about the job? Leading a team, solving challenges, and keeping production running smoothly. Kristian is especially proud of the positive feedback received on leadership and work ethic, using it as motivation to continue leading by example.

Outside of work, Kristian enjoys cooking and even owns a BBQ business! One favorite motto is: "Control what you can. Release what you can't. Trust that you've done your best."

Yesterday's Hiring Event was a huge success! 🎉

Aurubis Richmond partnered with HTI to host a hiring event that drew an incredible 245 registered candidates. Throughout the day, applicants were screened, interviewed, and given a brief tour of our facility, resulting in a very promising candidate pool for future opportunities.

A special thank you to HTI, the Aurubis HR Team, Stacey Lewis, Recruiting Manager, our hiring managers, and our tour guides whose hard work and dedication made this event possible.
