The Maintenance position shall require a working knowledge of automated conveying systems, pallet stackers/destackers, automated painting equipment powered industrial trucks, HVAC, among other technical skills. The Maintenance Associate position is a hands on, working position, requiring the candidate to have working knowledge of the above mentioned equipment and processes. The Maintenance Associate shall report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Maintenance Associates are responsible for maintaining production, achieving high performance uptime, maximizing maintenance cost and effectiveness, versed in Lean, quality and preventive maintenance programs, inventory of parts and equipment, purchasing parts and equipment, assigning job tasks. In addition, the Maintenance Associates are responsible for achieving safety goals and objectives, budgets, Standard Work Practices, production standards, daily maintenance inventory management, safety, Preventive Maintenance programs, Lockout / Tagout programs, Hot Work protocol, Fire Safety programs, and sanitation/housekeeping requirements.
The position requires the Maintenance Associates to occasionally fill in for limited periods of time to operate sortation equipment, painting equipment, hosteling, clerical, and operation of a forklift. Maintenance Associates shall be available to work before and after shifts to keep equipment operational during regular business hours and to include weekends and holidays.

Essential Job Functions
• Machinery and mechanical equipment, such as robotics, engines, chain conveyor tensioner systems, motors. Hydraulic systems, conveyor systems. Boiler room. Gear boxes.
• Understanding electronic systems, PLC, electric motors, lasers, photo cells, and production machines and equipment, including robotics.
• Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics. Hand tools,
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments.
• Welding, cutting and brazing.
• Automated paint systems. PM, cleaning, and repair.
• Inspection requirements of facility fire safety equipment including suppression systems for paint booth operations.
Additional Duties Include:
• Maintenance Mechanic locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Using HMI to calibrate, adjust, reset production equipment.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintaining PM programs as required by our third party and equipment suppliers.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations such as Lockout / Tag Out protocols.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Equipment Maintenance to include an advanced knowledge of:
o Robotics experience.
o Equipment electronics, troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair.
o Understand equipment programming and function.
o Advanced knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Technical understanding of equipment design and function.
• Dealing with Uncertainty and the pressure to keep equipment operational and production downtime to a minimum.
• Advanced knowledge of Safety practices, procedures, and regulations, Power Tools,
• Attention to Detail, Flexibility, Supervision, Job Knowledge, Productivity, hydraulic, pneumatics, and electronics.
