🛑 MYTH 🛑 This does not save any significant operating costs and typically results in an uncomfortable home for at least a few hours before the temperature is returned to normal settings.
People are used to the idea of turning down the heat at night and raising it during the day to save money when it’s cold. But that same logic doesn’t apply to AC, because it can take a long time to cool a home after the daytime temperature has been set high, which only makes the system run longer.
