The EAA AirVenture Oshkosh airshow is just around the corner! This seven day event brings aviation enthusiasts together from all over the world to witness first-rate aerobatics, new and old aircraft and the best the aviation community has to offer. The event will be held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin from July 25 to July 31. Van's will be at the show in the north aircraft display area booth 631-633 and will be displaying a purple RV-12 from our local RV-12 Distributor, Plane Guys Aviation LLC. The Record-Journal published a story that a handful of students from Wilcox Technical High School in Connecticut have started a project to assemble a Van's RV-12 aircraft. After meeting for five hours each week for the last few months, the students hope to have the plane completed within a year.

Our takeaway from this is if a group of high school students can build the RV-12, so can you!

Want to earn your sport pilot certificate from the best? The EAA Sport Pilot Academy is offering a three-week academy at the EAA Aviation Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The all-inclusive program runs from August 27 to September 17 but registration must be completed by July 1. Total cost of the academy is $9,999 – which includes group and one-on-one flight training, accommodations, meals, and unique EAA experiences.
