Beginning demolition phase on this fireplace restoration and upgrade project.

What started as visible horizontal cracking in the stucco revealed deeper deterioration once opened up — including moisture intrusion and rot damage caused by long-term neglected exterior maintenance.

In this first phase, we are removing damaged stucco, exposing compromised areas, and preparing for proper structural repair. At the same time, the existing masonry firebox is being removed to make way for a new larger upgraded fireplace system.

The original firebox was built well, but the surrounding conditions now require a full upgrade to restore both function and long-term durability. Proper repairs always begin by uncovering what is happening behind the finish. 🔥🧱

Progress underway on this backyard improvement project by Diamante Azul Construction, LLC.

We’re finishing the brick overlay over a reinforced CMU planter box that will soon become a functional vegetable flower bed, combining durability with a clean finished appearance.

At the same time, concrete preparation is moving forward for the new patio area — checking formwork, grading, rebar placement, and reinforcement, especially along the taller side to ensure long-term strength and stability.

This project brings together masonry, concrete, drainage planning, and outdoor living improvements to transform the backyard into a more usable and durable space. Hoping to wrap up this phase today. 🔨🧱🌿

Phase 1 of this remodel is underway at Diamante Azul Construction, LLC.

We began by carefully demolishing and removing the damaged brick veneer, followed by removal of the old exterior drywall sheathing and damaged framing. After that, we rebuilt the affected framing, installed new exterior sheathing, and prepared the wall system for the next stage of the project.

Next step: waterproofing the wall assembly to protect the structure before electrical, mechanical, and other trades begin their work. Proper preparation behind the finish is critical to long-term performance and durability.

A solid remodel always starts with correcting what is behind the wall before rebuilding what is seen on the outside. 🧱💪

Another masonry project in progress by Diamante Azul Construction, LLC 🧱

This project includes a new flowerbed box built with a reinforced CMU core and overlaid with brick selected to match the existing house for a clean, integrated look.

Because the property slopes from side to side, we are also installing a French drain across the front to properly manage water runoff and protect the structure long term.

In addition, a new concrete slab is being poured and attached to the existing patio, fully reinforced with rebar for strength and durability.

Every project is built with both appearance and long-term performance in mind.

Another natural stone transformation completed by Diamante Azul Construction 🪨💪

This project started on a challenging high-elevation corner of the property where the homeowner wanted to create a clean, functional stone feature that would work with the hillside grade.

We began by building a solid limestone pad at the upper level, then carefully followed the natural slope by installing stepped limestone sections that transition all the way down to grade. The final result created both a beautiful visual upgrade and practical access around the corner of the home.

Each piece was installed using large natural limestone slabs measuring approximately 2' x 4', giving the project a strong custom look that blends naturally with the home and surrounding landscape.

Projects like this completely change how a space feels — turning difficult elevation areas into durable, attractive features built to last.

If you’re thinking about upgrading your home with custom stonework, retaining walls, steps, patios, columns, or masonry features, feel free to contact us.

Another transformation completed by Diamante Azul Construction 🏠🧱

This project started with removing the existing older limestone that the homeowner wanted to update. After demolition, we installed a new water-resistant barrier over the sheathing, then applied new 6-inch natural stone in clean horizontal courses to give the home a completely refreshed look.

We also detailed and cleaned up the underpinning so everything blended together and gave the house a brand-new appearance. The difference was so noticeable that neighbors were asking if the house had been repainted.

Quality masonry work makes a huge difference in curb appeal.

This apartment complex reached out after a retaining wall failed.
Upon inspection, we found the root cause — no drainage system behind the wall.
No drainage rock.
No drain pipe.
No filter fabric.
Without drainage, hydrostatic pressure builds up behind the wall. Over time, that pressure causes failure.
We demoed the existing wall and rebuilt it correctly:
• Installed a proper footing
• Rebuilt the stone wall
• Added drainage rock
• Installed drain pipe
• Wrapped the system with fabric to prevent soil contamination
Water management is everything when it comes to retaining walls.
When it’s done right, problems don’t come back.

A returning customer reached out to us again.
We previously completed the stone work on her home, and this time she needed concrete steps added to the rear patio down to the yard.
Even small jobs matter to us — especially for returning clients.
We formed it, reinforced it, poured it, and finished it clean.
Simple, solid, done right.

Brown coat day.
House passed inspection, and now it’s time to move.
On larger homes like this, we bring out the pump. Stucco cement pump running all day.
Four helpers.
One pumper.
Four finishers.
Nonstop.
Prep is everything — full masking, full protection, full setup. Once we start spraying, there’s no slowing down. You can’t get behind, or it’ll beat you.
Four elevations in one day.
That’s how we handle production stucco.

A couple photos from a recent pier and beam home project.
The homeowner wanted to add two access doors to the front elevation so we could continue the masonry cleanly across the face of the house.
On the back cement skirt, we reinforced the area and installed metal access panels.
This type of work takes precision: • Cutting clean openings
• Reinforcing properly
• Installing and securing access doors
• Keeping lines consistent so it looks intentional, not patched
While we were there, we also repaired several missing mortar joints.
Detail work like this makes a big difference in the finished appearance.

Homeowner loved the limestone on the exterior and wanted that same look carried into the interior accent walls.
We installed Hardie board, mechanically fastened into framing, then applied thin veneer limestone.
For installation, we used Ardex X5, which meets ANSI A118.15 standards — a higher-performance rating compared to standard A118.4 thinsets.
That means: • Higher bond strength
• Better flexibility
• Designed specifically for demanding thin veneer applications
It’s more expensive than typical thinset — but it’s the right product for the job.
The veneer is approximately 1½" thick. We installed it with consistent joint spacing and clean alignment throughout.
Stone delivered, installed properly, and finished tight.
Homeowner was very happy with the outcome.
