Silicon Hills Mobile Mechanics is looking for an experienced Senior Automotive Technician to join Team Alpha in Austin.

If you’re tired of:

• Paying for Facebook and Craigslist ads
• Diagnosing vehicles for free through Messenger
• Negotiating with penny-pinching customers
• Chasing deposits and payments
• Spending more time finding work than completing it

We already have the customers and support system in place.

WE FIND THE CUSTOMERS. YOU HANDLE THE VEHICLE.

Our operations team handles advertising, customer intake, scheduling, estimates, dispatch, parts coordination, invoicing, and payment collection.

We’re looking for the technician other technicians call when the answer isn’t obvious.

You should be experienced in:

• Advanced diagnostics
• Electrical troubleshooting
• No-start and drivability concerns
• Scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Complex mechanical repairs

You’ll need professional tools, diagnostic equipment, reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and strong real-world experience.

ASE certifications are preferred, but proven capability matters most.

Two technicians. No sophisticated systems. No big operation behind us. Just a vision, a commitment to serve Austin, and the willingness to keep showing up.

Since 2021, we’ve grown through every season—the good ones, the hard ones, the Texas heat, the freezes, the storms, the mistakes, and the lessons that came with building something from the ground up.

Thousands of customers later, that little mobile mechanic company is growing into something much bigger.

And 2026 marks another chapter.

A larger team.
Stronger systems.
Five years serving Austin.
And now, our expansion into South Austin. 🔧💙

Customer: What kind of socket (or anything) will get this out..I can’t find out what it is. I’ve tried a “universal” socket, the hex bit, the triple square socket, t70(which was too small). It’s annoying because I need to replace the wheel bearing asap, and that screw is keeping me from getting that done.

Us: That’s an external Torx (E-Torx) bolt, not triple square, not hex. You need an E-socket, most likely E14 or E16 (sometimes E18 depending on the car).

Universal sockets just round these off, and a T70 won’t fit because that’s internal Torx, this is external.

👉 Hit it with:
E-Torx socket
Breaker bar
PB Blaster + a few taps with a hammer

If it’s stubborn, a little heat helps. You’re close, wrong socket, not wrong skill
