Five scientifically interesting animals will get free 30× whole genome sequencing.

The data goes open source.

We’re looking for animals with real biological value: rare breeds, undersequenced species, unusual lineages, conservation-relevant animals, animals from unique environments, or animals with a strong scientific story.

Eligible this round: mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

Not included this round: fish, plants, fungi, microbes, insects, or very small organisms.

This is not medical, veterinary, diagnostic, ancestry, or trait testing. It is whole genome sequencing for open scientific data.

Submissions close July 8, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT.
