It has been a true blessing to complete the construction of another phase of the Church of Christ at East Side in Austin, Texas. This is Phase IV of the Church's Campus Master Plan. We've just finished the 19,000 sq ft Family Life Center, which includes a regulatory college gym and a 2nd-level running track. It was truly a team effort as we worked together over the years to complete the project.
In 2013, we completed the construction of Phase I (the Sanctuary). Four years later, we built Phase II (the Foyer and offices), followed by a complete reconstruction of Phase II after the 2021 ice storm damage to the building. In 2023, we finished Phase III (the 23-classroom Learning Center and vans garage). Phase IV (the Family Life Center) was completed in June 2025.
I want to thank the leadership of the Church of Christ at East Side for entrusting ASD Consultants, Inc. with the primary role and responsibility for design and construction services for all projects. I also appreciate EJES, Inc., for providing design services; Ms. Gail Williams, who served as the church's project manager and construction manager; Darien Brown, who was the project manager and superintendent for ASD Consultants, Inc.; and Geremy Green, who served as the office engineer for ASD Consultants, Inc.
The entire project was a monumental and historic achievement for several reasons, to list a few: 1) It is one of the largest private projects in Austin, TX, developed, owned, and managed by a predominantly African American church. 2) The campus is situated on one of Austin’s prime visual locations. 3) The total cost for all phases combined was $23,000,000.00 plus.
