When Jonatan Silva, a Controls Engineer at Bendix Acuña, identified a process that required frequent manual adjustments and increased setup time, he took the initiative to develop a better solution. By implementing an improved adjustment system, he helped simplify changeovers, improve consistency across multiple product models, and make the process more efficient for operators.

Some of the most impactful improvements start with identifying a recurring issue and finding a practical solution.

When Lamar Dixon from the Maintenance team at Bendix Huntington noticed that larger boxes on a line were becoming an issue, disrupting production flow and increasing cycle times, he took action.

By installing a box diverter, Lamar helped keep larger boxes properly aligned as they moved through the process, reducing disruptions and helping production run more smoothly. Great work turning an everyday challenge into an improvement that benefits the entire operation.

A proactive mindset can make all the difference.

When Candace Blakey, a Quality Tech at Bendix Bowling Green, noticed an opportunity to avoid unnecessary risk, she took the initiative to address it. While recent building repairs were underway, Candace suggested a temporary change in our material storage process to ensure operators and drivers avoided the area, preventing safety concerns and potential material loss. Her practical solution helped improve workplace conditions and protect valuable materials and equipment.

By identifying an opportunity for improvement and taking ownership, Candace helped make the work environment safer and more efficient for her team. Bendix Bowling Green has earned the Kentucky Governor's Safety & Health Award! With more than 795,000 hours worked without a lost-time injury, the team exceeded the state's safety milestone and demonstrated that a strong safety culture is built through everyday actions. Congratulations to everyone in Bowling Green on this outstanding achievement!

Claudia Osorio, an operator at the Bendix Acuña production facility, took initiative when she identified a process issue that could impact product quality and a potential safety concern. Rather than working around the problem, she raised the issue so it could be addressed quickly.

Claudia collaborated with the Controls Engineering team, which investigated the issue and made adjustments to the equipment. The changes restored proper process performance, eliminated the quality concern, and improved overall reliability.
