All power should now be restored. If you are still without service, please call the outage number.

While we have several lightning induced outages going on, we have one in particular SW of Frankfort that we will not be able to get access to until the flood waters recede to allow us access. Please stay safe.

We are excited to announce that Eli Meyers has joined our organization as an apprentice lineman. Eli began working for us on January 1st. Some of you may recognize him - he was also one of our summer interns for the 2025 season.

Eli graduated from Paola High School and received his associates degree in Electric and Power Distribution from Manhattan Area Technical College. He spent three summers assisting in aircraft loading for Brent Hunninghake.

Outside of work, Eli enjoys golfing, deer hunting, duck hunting and spending time with his dog, Minnie. He is looking forward to getting back to work with all the guys he met during his summer internship and working for the members.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Eli. We are confident he will be a valuable addition to our team and look forward to watching him gain valuable experience as he works toward becoming a journeyman lineman.

Welcome Jenny to Our Team!

We are excited to announce that Jenny Lierz has joined us as our new Senior Billing Clerk. She started her journey with us on December 22nd and her enthusiasm and positive attitude have already made a great impression.
Jenny and her husband Matt live in Axtell with their two sons.
Jenny graduated from Axtell High School in 2007 and took some courses in Business Administration at Manhattan Area Technical College. Over the years, Jenny has worked in diverse roles – from Ace’s Bar and Grill for nearly 20 years to childcare at Everything Grows with Love for 14 years. Most recently, she supported students at Axtell Public Schools as Instructional Support Staff and MTSS Interventionalist.
Outside of work Jenny enjoys attending her son’s activities, cooking, baking and even mud truck racing with her husband and their friends.
Jenny is looking forward to a new work environment, taking on the billing clerk role and working with our members.
Please join us in giving Jenny a warm welcome. We are thrilled to have her on board and look forward to achieving great things together.

Today, 6 students from five area high schools participated in our annual Youth Tour competition. This competition is designed to educate and inspire local high school students about electric cooperatives, leadership and civic engagement.
First, we tested their cooperative knowledge with a short true/false and multiple-choice test. Later the students were presented to our Board of Trustees to give a presentation on themselves and why they feel they would be a good representative for our cooperative. The board then had a short question and answer session with each candidate. Scores were compiled from the tests and interviews to determine the winner.
The winner, Arielle Lindeen, of Axtell High School, will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. While there she will join other students from across the nation to learn firsthand about government, history, and the role electric cooperatives play at the national level.
Second place, Lincoln Menold, of Sabetha High School, will receive an all-expense paid trip to Steamboat Springs in Colorado, where he will get a unique educational experience focused on leadership development, teamwork and exploration.
Congratulations to both of these young leaders and thank you to all the candidates for participating in our Youth Tour competition, it is always a fun day for our employees and board members to get to meet all of you.
