The post you’ve all been waiting for!!
We received a special directive to release stored water yesterday!

Lake elevation: 801.27 feet and decreasing!
Outflow is at 4.74 feet and around 1,500 cfs.

The good news is…… gates should be open to all access areas today!

The bad news is…. There’s likely to be good amounts of drift and debris floating in the lake. Please be aware of your surroundings and watch closely for trees and debris sticking out of the water.

Operation Fish with a Hero 2026! We had the honor of hosting 30 veterans with a day of fishing on boats and on shore. The community came together and we were able to give rods/reels and tackle bags to all of the veterans.

We host this event to support and honor our veterans by doing something they either enjoy, have never done before, and providing the supplies to do so. We couldn't do it with out the support of our Operation Fish with a Hero committee and Scioto Area Corps Cooperating Association (SACCA).

We are thankful to be able to continue this program to honor the brave men and women who serve and have served our country.

Be on the lookout for next years event, June 5th, 2027

Good morning Paint Creek Lake!

The lake update you’ve all been waiting for!!

Lake elevation is at 799.68 feet and expected to be back at summer pool today!

The outflow is currently at 5.57 feet or 2,252 cfs and is expected to decrease later in the afternoon.

All access areas are cleaned off.
Shoemaker beach and Rattlesnake boat ramp are open and ready to use.
Deer Park boat ramp and the fishing pier at the dam will be having some work done throughout the day and are scheduled to open in the morning!

Please be safe when boating due to expected drift throughout the lake.
The water clarity looks pretty good considering all the flooding.

Remember, whenever on or around the water, wear your life jacket!!

The park ranger will be watching for adults wearing their life jackets for the “I got caught” program and you may get a T-shirt or cooler for your good habits!

Here’s a progression video of the outflow yesterday!

Our number one mission is Flood Risk Management. Before making operations like shown above, we do ensure that the downstream waters can handle what we are releasing.
We are slowly working our way to getting back to summer pool so everyone can enjoy the lake with this warm weather.

Once the water level reaches summer pool we work as quick as we can to get access areas open again. Please be patient with us as these floods typically leave a lot of drift and debris for us to remove for everyone to remain safe around and on the lake.

Remember, when in or around the water…… Wear your life jacket!

Have a great Saturday and remember, when in or around the water, WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET!
