ipate as instructors at central California field workshops. MBI provides for ongoing continuing education to all staff levels, including regular attendance at professional development workshops, meetings, and conferences, as well as in-house training and calibration. MBI provides efficient consulting services while maintaining high quality products and keeping current with industry practices and regulations. Our Bakersfield office is central to the area of primary service, reducing the need for overnight stays to complete field assignments. MBI has personnel available seven days per week, if necessary. ˚ Randi McCormick founded MBI in January 2001 after working as an independent consultant and on staff at consulting firms for 14 years. Her previous experience includes managing the Bakersfield staff for The Planning Center, working as a seasonal biologist for the Bureau of Land Management, and holding the position of biologist at Quad Knopf, Inc. She currently manages a staff of up to 18 biologists, seasonal biological technicians and administrative personnel. The firm completes projects for both public and private sector clients. Randi is a member of several professional societies and has been a presenter/instructor for workshops sponsored by the San Joaquin Chapter of The Wildlife Society, including Blunt-nosed Leopard Lizard Survey Workshop (2007 and 2009) and Sensitive Small Mammal Species of the San Joaquin Valley Workshop (2010). Randi's areas of expertise include biological resources of the San Joaquin Valley and surrounding foothills, CESA and FESA permitting, biological resource documentation for CEQA and NEPA, and California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) Section 1600 Notifications.
