Every project starts with the people who show up ready to get the job done.

From early mornings and long days to solving challenges in the field, our crews bring the skill, grit, and commitment that keep projects moving forward safely and efficiently.

Their work doesn't just build infrastructure. It helps deliver clean water, sustainable solutions, and stronger communities throughout California.

We're proud of the people behind the work.

Recap the month with us as we acknowledge May milestones and achievements across our job sites.

At RP-1, we successfully executed multiple major concrete pours. Our team skillfully delivered some of the largest single pours across our sites reaching up to 45 ft tall. This is a major accomplishment for RP-1 and a reflection of the performance driven team that we pride ourselves on being.

At Union City, we continue preconstruction and rehabilitation of the aeration basins. We are engaging in major equipment and infrastructure upgrades while simultaneously keeping plant operations running. This requires careful phasing and collaboration that our teams seamlessly coordinate.

None of these accomplishments would be possible without proper safety training. Lyles is proud to have participated in the statewide Safety Week initiative where our jobsites came together to reinforce safe work practices, strengthen communication, and recommit to protecting one another every day in the field.

May brought strong momentum across our projects as we continued reaching key milestones, overcoming challenges, and delivering high-quality work with safety at the forefront. We look forward to the months ahead as we continue building with purpose and precision.

As the month of May comes to an end, our team wants to raise awareness for how the summer heat can impact the job site.

Safety is fundamental to the success of every one of our jobsites. As temperatures rise, we take precautions to ensure the health of our team. Our sites have hydration stations consistently stocked with water and easily accessible during the workday.

We encourage heat-appropriate clothing that blocks the sunlight while keeping you cool. Our team is trained and equipped to recognize heat illness and look out for one another in the field.

The quality of the work we deliver is a direct reflection of the hardworking people who make it possible.

At Lyles, we take care of each other so we can take care of business.

Progress means more than the construction happening on
site.

At Lyles, one of our core beliefs is
environmental stewardship. This can be seen through everyday efforts on the job
site where our teams remain committed to responsible construction practices
like waste reduction and material reuse. These practices set the standard for
building responsibly from the moment a project starts to commissioning.

On a large scale, our projects serve communities all
across California through water recycling, wastewater treatment, and renewable
energy infrastructure. The goal is to support the generations to come but also
leave a positive impact on the spaces we build upon.

We choose to build facilities that support communities while sustaining the health of our environment every step of the way.

14 hours. 760,000 pounds. 3,600 feet of precision.

That was the moment our Santee Package 3 team delivered one of the most critical connections on the project.

The team executed a full pipe pull, installing a 36-inch HDPE line connecting the East Mission Gorge Pump Station all the way to the Influent Pump Station area. Every foot mattered. Every movement had to be right. Because this line now connects directly into the force main that will feed Plant 1 and keep the entire system moving.

Operations like this take detailed planning, constant communication, and a crew that knows how to execute under pressure. Fourteen hours of focus, coordination, and trust in one another.

And when it was done, it wasn’t just a successful pull. It was a connection that brings the system one step closer to delivering reliable, advanced water infrastructure for the region.

This is what it looks like when preparation meets performance.

Proud of the team that got it done.

“The joy is in the creating, not the having.” – Bill Lyles

In our line of work, that idea shows up every day.

It’s in the early mornings on the jobsite, the problem-solving sessions, the coordination it takes to move a project forward inch by inch. It’s in the process of building something that didn’t exist before. Something that will serve communities long after we’re gone.

The finished project matters. But the real pride comes from how it gets built.
From the people who show up ready to do it right. From the teams that push through challenges and find solutions. From the shared commitment to safety, quality, and doing honest work.

That’s where the meaning is. In the creating.

And that’s what continues to drive us forward.

Safety isn’t a checklist. It’s a mindset.

At W. M. Lyles Co., thinking safe means anticipating the risk before it shows up. Acting right means having the discipline to speak up, slow down, and do the job the right way every time. And building better means delivering work that protects not just our teams, but the communities and environments we serve.

This is more than how we work. It’s what we stand for.

We look out for each other. Not because we have to, but because that’s who we are. Every person on our team has a role in making sure everyone goes home safe, and that responsibility is something we carry with pride.

Because the work we do matters. And how we do it matters even more.

Yesterday we celebrated Mother’s Day. Today, we recognize the impact that carries into every jobsite, office, and project we build.

Across W. M. Lyles Co., mothers are helping deliver some of the most complex environmental infrastructure in California. They lead teams, solve problems, and push projects forward while shaping the next generation at home.

That balance takes strength, resilience, and a commitment to something bigger than yourself. It reflects the same mindset we bring to our work building water, resource recovery, and sustainable infrastructure for the communities we serve.

To the mothers of WML and across the industry, thank you for the leadership, perspective, and drive you bring every day.

Safety Week across our jobsites.

From hands-on safety rodeos at RP-5 to daily vendor demonstrations in Union City, our teams are turning preparation into action. Heavy equipment training in Santee, first aid and tourniquet application at Moulton Niguel, and fall protection demos in Ontario all reinforce one thing.

Safety is not a meeting. It is how we work.

We recognize hazards early, communicate clearly, and execute with discipline to bring certainty to every jobsite.

At W. M. Lyles Co., safety starts with awareness.

The construction industry has made meaningful progress over the years, yet serious injuries and fatalities still occur. The difference today is how we recognize risk and respond with clarity, discipline, and certainty.

Every jobsite carries high energy hazards: heavy equipment, confined spaces, pressurized systems, electrical work. These are part of what we do. Identifying them early is what protects our people.

Recognition is not a one-time action, it is a daily discipline. It requires every team member to stay engaged, think ahead, and communicate clearly using proven hazard identification practices.

When we recognize risks, we create the opportunity to control them. When we communicate them effectively, we bring certainty to the jobsite and protect one another.

This is how we build a culture of care. This is how we look out for our crews, our partners, and our communities.

Today, take the time to recognize the hazards around you. It is the first step in making sure everyone goes home safe.
