Come out and support the Gleaners re-stock their shelves!

We are encouraging local residents to donate non-perishable food items and money. You can also buy breakfast burritos provided by Mossman’s Restaurant and Catering, and the proceeds will go to the Gleaners.

The event will be held on Tuesday, June 28th from 5:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. at Chevron Corporation, 9525 Camino Media, Bakersfield, California.

According to this year's Market Overview by the Kern EDC, Kern County produces over 66% of California's total gas production. Our local petroleum industry also contributes over $1.1 billion in state and local tax revenues. This just goes to show how the petroleum industry in Kern is here to serve you!

We would like to thank Assembly Member Rudy Salas for visiting Alon's Bakersfield Refinery last week to meet the management and tour the facility. The Assembly Member was eager to learn more about our plans to reopen, which will contribute to the local economy and provide hundreds of high-paying jobs right here in Kern County.

Alon USA's Bakersfield Refinery is excited to announce that it has hired local firm, Brinderson, to lead the design phase of the Crude Flexibility Project.

"The choice of a local firm proves Alon's commitment to Kern County, and it is an important step toward reopening the Bakersfield facility. We are thrilled to see Alon USA make this large-scale investment in our community. This is a venture that should not be underplayed – it will lead to hundreds of local jobs and add to the vibrancy of Kern County's economy,” explained Richard Chapman, president and CEO of the Kern Economic Development Corporation.

This news made it in The Bakersfield Californian's "Worth Noting in Business" section last week.

"A Costa Mesa firm with offices in Bakersfield has been hired to begin engineering work on a proposed refinery upgrade along Rosedale Highway."

Yesterday, Congressman David Valadao visited Alon USA's Bakersfield Refinery. Congressman Valadao received a tour of the refinery grounds and spoke with the management at the facility. We are proud of the Congressman’s important work as a representative for the 21st District. The 21st District is heavily invested in the industries of oil and agriculture and encompasses large portions of Kern County, including outer sections of Bakersfield.

All of us at Alon USA’s Bakersfield Refinery are thankful for Congressman Valadao’s continued support.
