☀️What a great way to kick off summer!

On Saturday, June 6, our NE team and their families gathered at Riverside Park in Baltimore for our 2026 Northeast Family Picnic, hosted by our amazing Culture Builders. From delicious BBQ catered by Beefalo Bob's and live music to bounce houses, co****le, and plenty of time spent together, the day was full of fun, connection, and of course, a little friendly competition. After all, what’s a family picnic without a few bragging rights on the line?

🔨 Joe M. – Heavyweight champion of "The Heavy Hitter," taking home a portable Bluetooth speaker.

Please join us in welcoming Travis to Southway’s Southeast team as our newest Estimator! 🎉

A graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Travis holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management as well as an MBA. He brings valuable experience managing preconstruction and estimating efforts for multifamily and commercial projects, including coordinating bid teams, developing project schedules, and building strong client relationships.

Outside of work, Travis enjoys:
🔨 DIY home improvement projects 🍽️ Exploring new restaurants 🎶 Attending live music events ☕ Refining his barista skills (latte art is still a work in progress 😁)

We’re excited to welcome our Summer 2026 interns to Southway! 🎉

Yesterday, our interns kicked off their 12-week internship program with onboarding, an exciting bus tour of several Southway projects, and a walkthrough of our active project at the B&O Railroad Museum. It was a great opportunity to introduce them to our team, our work, and the communities we serve.

Throughout the summer, the interns will rotate through three core roles within the construction management industry:
✅ Preconstruction Project Engineer
✅ Construction Project Engineer
✅ Assistant Superintendent

This hands-on experience will allow them to gain practical industry knowledge, contribute to real projects, and learn alongside experienced professionals across our company.

At Southway, we believe in investing in the next generation of builders and leaders, and we’re looking forward to supporting these talented students as they grow over the next 12 weeks. Welcome to the team! 👏

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have protected the freedoms we enjoy every day. We are grateful for those who served and especially mindful of the families who carry their legacy forward.

Please join us in welcoming Cory to our Southeast team as our newest Senior Preconstruction Manager! 🎉

Cory brings extensive experience leading and scaling preconstruction and construction programs. Her expertise in aligning strategy with ex*****on has helped organizations streamline systems, reduce risk, and accelerate project delivery through innovative tools, scheduling, and process development.

Outside of work, Cory is an avid cyclist and former XTERRA, mountain bike, and cyclocross racer - with an impressive eight-bike garage to prove it! 🚲 She’s also a devoted dog lover whose Golden Retriever, Phoebe, is a big part of her life. 🐶

Starting the week off by celebrating one of our favorite things... recognizing the teams who go above and beyond to keep our jobsites safe every day.

🏆 Congratulations to our Q1 2026 Southway Quarterly Safety Award winners! 🎉

In the Northeast, the team at the B&O Railroad Museum project demonstrated an outstanding commitment to safety while managing complex work including roofing operations, structural steel installation, MEP rough-in, masonry, stonework, and sitework with more than 100 works on site.

In the Southeast, the team at 949 Washington earned recognition for their exceptional safety performance while coordinating cranes, engineered shoring, structural steel, trenching, demolition, carpentry, and electrical work.

Thank you to both project teams for living out Southway’s core values of Quality, Dependability, and Integrity every day. Your leadership and dedication continue to strengthen our culture of safety across every project! 👏

Strong safety cultures are built through consistent conversations, shared accountability, and Southway’s commitment to quality, dependability, and integrity.

At Ellicott Mill this week, over 150 workers came together for a full-site Safety Stand Down focused on working safely in heat and hot environments. Led by Southway Superintendent Joe M., the toolbox talk reinforced the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, along with the importance of staying hydrated and looking out for one another.

To cap it off, attendees were entered to win tools and gift cards! A fun way to reward participation while keeping safety top of mind.
