Thank you to Aaron Henkin's "The Maryland Curiosity Bureau" and WYPR for allowing HILGARTNER's President Thomas Doyle to help shed light on this subject! All entryways must be safe of unstable surfaces and trip hazards, but it’s CRUCIAL when dealing with public spaces. This kind of failure is of even greater importance at medical facilities such as the Eye Institute shown in these photos. What appears to be a minor paving failure can be a HOT MESS to repair, but it’s no problem for the HILGARTNER crew! A Saturday OUT and a Sunday back IN had this busy facility ready for business come Monday morning.

Freezing temps have us fondly remembering projects we completed this past Summer! HILGARTNER has seen lots of changes in the stone industry in 156 years, and a big market shift took place when “big box” home/hardware/construction chains made kitchen counters readily available out-of-the-box. For interior designs more unique than a standard 25-1/2” deep counter, we at HILGARTNER work with designers to supply hard surface counters larger than standard and customized to your needs and space. Pictured is a counter we fabricated and installed for the McCormick Spice Co. at their Hunt Valley, MD Training & Test Facility.

This past Spring, HILGARTNER was contracted to re-locate this statue of Chief Justice Thurgood Marshall from the MD State Archives to a new plaza at the Court of Appeals in Annapolis. These photos show the artwork being hoisted by crane, installed in place, and then in a final view with our paver & cobblestone work complete.
