75 years in Maryland means Frosty has seen just about every kind of weather this state can throw at us.

Hot September afternoons. Freezing January mornings. Random 70-degree days in February. You know, Maryland.

Through all of it, we've been here helping local families stay comfortable since 1951.

You know it's coming. That first chilly morning when somebody in the house wants to turn the heat on.

Before heating season gets here, give your system a quick once-over. Make sure the area around it is clear, check your filter, and pay attention the first time you turn the heat on.

And yes, that dusty smell the first time the heat runs can be normal. But if something smells really off or doesn't sound right, shut it down and give us a call.

This is the time of year when your AC may still be running one day and completely off the next.

As summer winds down, there’s a little window before heating season really gets going. If you’ve been meaning to schedule maintenance or have something checked, now is a good time to get it on the calendar.

We’ll worry about the heating and cooling. You can decide how early is too early for the fall decorations. 🍂

Ever close the vents in rooms you’re not using because it seems like it should save money?

Makes sense in theory, but it can actually make your HVAC system work harder. Your system is designed to move air throughout the house, and closing too many vents can throw off that airflow.

So go ahead and leave them open. One less thing on the home maintenance list. 😊

As August winds down, pay attention to how it’s running. Taking longer to cool the house? Running more than usual? Not quite as comfortable as it was earlier in the summer?

By August, it's been through heat, humidity and plenty of long days trying to keep the house comfortable.

If you've noticed it's running longer than usual, struggling to keep up, or just not cooling like it did earlier this summer, don't ignore it.

Frosty Refrigeration has been family owned and serving local homeowners since 1951.

We're still here doing what we've always done. Answering the phone, showing up, being straight with our customers and taking care of their homes.
