Last Friday was the unveiling of the Lineman Memorial.
Having two linemen reveal it was perfect and honestly quite moving.
Huge thank you to the NSUJL and Tammy Duncan for commissioning this memorial and trusting me to honor the linemen appropriately.
Gary Telesk for getting this whole project going, smoothing out any bumps in the road over the last year, and for having faith in my vision.
Paul Litwin for his invaluable counsel.
Jonathan Maxwell for expertly fabricating elements in the sculpture.
Bruce Robinson for help loading it up in a downpour.
John Fulcher who also got soaked, but showed up the next day to help install it, and keep a temperamental generator running.
Cory and Brandon for bringing the bucket truck and placing the sculpture perfectly.
My family for having my back with support throughout the year of this build (special shout out to my lil’ sis for doing PR work)
My wife Amy, who not only was my trusted consultant when I had design issues while building this, but also being a life coach when things got overwhelming in the past year.
And finally, my utmost gratitude to all who have passed and are still living, working to keep our society running.
I hope you feel proud of this monument, and that your families may come here for generations to feel pride, and maybe a little connection to you.
