What is a Mosquito Dunk®?
Mosquito Dunks® are an easy way to stop mosquitoes before they become biting adults. These small, floating dunks® work in standing water where mosquitoes lay their eggs. As each Dunk slowly dissolves, it releases Bti, a natural soil-borne bacterium that targets and kills mosquito larvae with no effect on anything else.

Each Dunk® kills mosquito larvae for 30 days or more, covers up to 100 square feet of water, and is approved for use in organic production. Use Mosquito Dunks® in standing water such as rain barrels, bird baths, gutters, planter reservoirs, tree holes, and more.

They are labeled for use in animal watering troughs, ponds, birdbaths, and other areas in which animals and pets will drink and bathe. Mosquito Dunks® are also completely harmless to plants, fish, frogs, turtles and beneficial insects.

Some Basic Facts About Alpha-gal Syndrome
A single bite from a lone star tick can change your life. Alpha-gal Syndrome happens when a lone star tick introduces the alpha-gal sugar molecule into your body, triggering an allergic reaction that can range from mild to life-threatening. The CDC estimates up to 450,000 people may be affected nationwide — and the real number is probably higher, since many cases go undiagnosed.

Symptoms can include:
Hives, itching, or swelling
Stomach pain, nausea, or shortness of breath
In serious cases: anaphylaxis — throat swelling, narrowed airways, rapid pulse, or loss of consciousness

How to protect yourself:
Wear long pants and long sleeves when heading outdoors

One Tick Changed Everything
Kevin is a hiker from Missouri — healthy, active, and no stranger to time outdoors. But in 2014, he had a reaction unlike anything he'd experienced before. His lips swelled, then his face. His wife took one look at him and said it was time to go to the ER. "I felt like I would pass out," Kevin said.

At the hospital, he was treated for Anaphylaxis — a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. Afterward, he made an appointment with an allergist, and when the doctor heard his story, he suspected the cause right away. A blood test confirmed it: Alpha-gal Syndrome, a condition often triggered by the bite of a lone star tick. "It was almost like a sense of freedom at that point," Kevin said. Finally, there were answers.

Today, he manages the condition carefully — annual allergist visits, regular testing, and real changes to the way he eats. No mammalian foods. His family cooks with vegetables and chicken. "My family is supportive of my condition," he said.

And his tick awareness is sharper than ever. After mowing his lawn one afternoon, he found a tick attached to him. His doctor's advice: long pants and long sleeves, even in the yard. "Missouri has lots of Lone Star ticks." Kevin's story is a reminder that answers matter — and so does prevention.
