"Being part of Healthy Communities means creating safe, accessible, and connected transportation networks that work for all road users." - Ally Ratkowski-Howe

During Bike to Work Week, we're celebrating our teams who design safer, more connected places to bike and walk.

From trail and greenway planning to final design and construction documents, our Healthy Communities team designs networks that make it easier to ride to work, school, parks, and everything in between.

The team is currently working to update a comprehensive bicycle master plan for Howard County, MD to guide the County’s bicycle network development and policies over the next decade.

"When drivers slow down and they use caution through our work zone, they’re not just obeying the rules, they’re making sure people like me make it home safe to the people who matter to us.” -Inspector Bill Solonoski

As we close National Work Zone Awareness Week, we want to ask everyone to observe a moment of silence as a tribute to the people who have lost their lives in a work zone incident.

Our final video reinforces the simple goal at the heart of this week: getting home safely at the end of each day.

As construction season continues, we ask everyone to carry this message forward. Remember that your choices behind the wheel can last forever. So slow down, stay alert, and follow posted signs - this week and always.

During National Work Zone Awareness Week, we’re highlighting how everyday decisions behind the wheel can have consequences that last forever, impacting families, coworkers, and entire communities.

Today, we’re sharing the story of one of our team members who was injured in a work zone. Gene McGillin, CCM's experience is a powerful reminder that every decision matters, and every person in a work zone deserves to get home safely.
